Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (MLDL), the real estate and infrastructure development arm of the Mahindra Group, introduced a new pan-India brand of industrial clusters - “Origins”. The brand aims to help address the growing need of the economy for sustainable industrial infrastructure to help India’s rise as a globally competitive manufacturing and investment destination.
The first project would be in North Chennai with a Phase 1 development of 264 acres, in a joint venture between Mahindra World City Developers Limited and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan. The second project is located near Ahmedabad, with a Phase 1 development of 268 acres, with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) acting as a strategic partner.
These industrial clusters will help domestic and global companies by enabling faster go-to-market; plug-and-play infrastructure; in-house expertise in operations and security; and a range of business support services such as warehousing, logistics, banks, food courts, etc.
Customers would also benefit from value-added services such as fulfillment centers, industrial kitchens, and industrial waste management. In line with Mahindra Lifespaces’ focus on sustainable urban development, the company would also incorporate environment-friendly, smart elements into the areas of water and waste management, energy efficiency, security, etc.
