Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli celebrated his 29th birthday on Sunday in style. The internet was overflowing with birthday wishes from his teammates and friends alike. The sheer volume of birthday messages meant he couldnât respond to each individually, but Kohli did express his gratitude to his teammates, and others who wished him. âReally overwhelmed to see all the love and the wishes,â he tweeted a day later.
And among the more interesting exchanges was the one he had with KL Rahul, who asked him to stop making batting look easy. To this, the dynamic right-hander sent a unique reply. Kohli responded in Raghuram Rajan style.
Rajan was the former RBI governor who took his leave from office last year. During his stay, Rajan cut the benchmark repo rate by 50 basis points to a four-year low of 6.75 percent in a surprise move. Responding to how the media has given him different names like âSanta Clausâ and âHawkâ, he had simply said, âMy name is Raghuram Rajan and I do what I doâ.
Virat too followed suit of the ex-Governor as he tweeted, âThanks Bru. I just do what I do!â

A couple of days later the Men in Blue handed Kohli a belated birthday gift after beating the Kiwis in the series-deciding third T20I on Tuesday. India won by six runs in the rain-curtailed match to claim the series 2-1.
Kohli looked extremely upbeat having won a few matches on the trot and was proud of his team. Speaking to the media he said, âWe have won a few on the trot and it makes us very proud. This stadium is beautiful, the outfield wonderful and the crowd made it special. I am surprised there were no games here earlier.â
