Kinetic-owned luxury motorcycle brand, MotoRoyale has joined hands with the iconic British bike maker, Norton Motorcycles. The joint venture has been announced to make way for the Norton bikes in India under the MotoRoyale brand.
The UK-based motorcycle manufacturer, Norton is expected to launch its first product in India by the first-quarter of 2018. The joint venture will also export the motorcycles to some of the selected Asian markets including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, etc.
The first two products to make its way to India are Norton Dominator and Norton Commando. Both the motorcycles are built on the old-school cafe racer design and powered by a 961 cc twin-parallel engine.
Kinetic Group believes that it is the right time to bring the superbikes from British manufacturer to India. It is believed to create a good amount of hype and excitement in the Indian motorcycle market.
Norton Motorcycle’s CEO announced officially about the tie-up and expressed his delight. The British company is excited about the new alliance with the Kinetic Group. It believes that the style and passion of the Norton bikes along with the experience of the Kinetic Group will prove to be a good combination. The alliance is expected to deliver a fabulous range of motorcycles to the Asian countries.
At the initial phase, Norton is expected to import the models through CBU route while it has further plans for assembling the products locally. Kinetic is planning to localize 50 percent of the components, which will also help the manufacturer to offer a lower price for the upcoming bikes. The motorcycles will be sold through the MotoRoyale outlets in the country. Currently, there are four dealerships of the company present across some of the major cities in India.
In the present scenario, there is a surge in demand for this types of bikes in India. Motorcycles like the Ducati Scrambler and Triumph Street Scrambler are witnessing a growth in their demand.
