Delhi: Air quality deteriorates again; reaches ‘very poor’ category
New Delhi:: Air quality in Delhi has once again deteriorated and reached very poor category.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Particulate Matter 10 pollutants level was found at 337 micro-gram per cubic meter while Particulate matter 2.5 level at 257 micro-gram this morning.
Pollution is considered severe plus or emergency when readings of PM2.5 cross 300 micro-gram and PM10 500 micro-gram.
Pollution levels in Delhi usually remain in the ‘very poor’ category during December. November witnessed extremely high levels of pollution as smoke from paddy residue burning reaches the city, aggravating the situation.
