Ridhima shoots gold
Chandigarh: Ridhima Khindria, a student of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, has won a gold medal in the 10m air pistol event at the 63rd National School Games Championship held at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune. Ridhima scored 379 points to top the U-19 category. In the team event, Chandigarh girls --- Khindra (379 points), Nandini Kansal (362 points) and Yashmeet Kaur (352 points) --- finished second with a total of 1093 points.
Now, pay quarterly fees at coaching centres
Mohali: Keeping in view the increasing rush of sports lovers at its centres, the district sports office here has introduced a quarterly fee system for all the sports complexes. “The department has introduced the quarterly fee system in order to boost the use of stadiums here,” said the office of the district sports officer. “The sports enthusiasts can also pay quarterly fee from this session onwards. The system has been introduced to reduce the administrative burden,” the office added. —TNS
