3rd Test: Dhananjaya, Chandimal lead Sri Lanka’s fightback
New Delhi: Chasing 410 runs to win, Sri Lanka were 119/4 against India at lunch on the fifth day of the third and final Test at Ferozshah Kotla here on Wednesday.
Resuming the day 31/3, left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja scalped an early wicket of Sri Lanka batsman Angelo Mathews but Dhananjaya de Silva (72*) and Dinesh Chandimal (27*) denied India any more inroads.
Earlier, India declared their second innings at 246 for 5 wickets. Shikhar Dhawan made 67 runs, followed by Pujara 49, and Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma both contributing 50 runs each.
Sri Lanka were earlier bowled out at 373. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma took three wickets each while Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja bagged two apiece.
