Yamaha has introduced its YZF-R1 bike in India. This bike has been priced at an ex-showroom price of Rs 20.73 lakhs in Delhi. This bike has been introduced in Black and Blue Color Skimm. It has a padded Quick Shift System (QSS).
Yamaha Motor India Pvt. Roy Kurien, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing, says that YZF-R1 models will make YAMAHA's presence strong in the superbike section of the Indian market. The technology of this bike is taken from Yamaha's racing machine YZR-M1. This bike has 998cc liquid cooled engine, which generates a power of 200PS at 13,500rpm and a pickup torque of 112.4Nm at 11,500rpm.
Yamaha's bike will give a tough fight to Honda CBR1000RR (Fireblade), Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and Suzuki GSX-R1000. According to the company YZF-R1 Yamaha's YZR-M1 has been made from Cross Plain Technology. Its compact chassis- provides better suspension with magnesium rear frame, long swing arm and magnesium wheels.
