MUMBAI: Hindi GEC is strengthening its fiction line-up with three new shows. The shows titled ‘Kalire’, ‘Aapke Aa Jaane Se’ and ‘Ishq Pakeezah’ (tentative title) will launch next year.
‘Kalire’ is being produced under the banner of Tringle Films, helmed by producers Nikhil Sinha and Sohanna Sinha. Set against the backdrop of Punjab, it is a romantic drama with love and war being the core of the show. The show will be part of the channel’s new campaign Aaj Likhenge Kal.
The show will feature Arjit Taneja and Aditi Sharma in the lead role. It will also feature Vishavpreet Kaur, Ashu Sharma, Paramvir Cheema, Ekroop Bedi and Ritu Vashisht in pivotal roles.
‘Aapke Aa Jane Se’ will be produced under the banner of Bodhi Tree Multimedia. It is a love story between a 25-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman. With this show, the channel is looking to break the norm of an elder woman falling in love with a younger man. The show will feature Kinshuk and Suhasi Dhami in the lead role.
The third show, which is tentatively titled ‘Ishq Pakeezah’, is being produced by Creative Eye. The show revolves around the concept of triple talaq. Adnan Khan and Kanika Mann have been signed to play the lead roles along with Gunn Kansara and Vinay Jain.
Zee TV’s current fictional programming comprises of Bhootu, Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morey, Aisi Deewangi Dekhi Nahi Kahin, Zindagi Ki Mehek, Piyaa Albela, Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya, Woh Apna Sa, Dil Dhoondta Hai and Detective Didi.
The channel’s prime time starts at 6 pm and runs through to 10.30 pm on weekdays. During weekends, the prime time starts at 8 pm and ends at 10.30 pm.
