2017 has been a very eventful year for Land Rover and the company will be ending it on a high note. With one more launch coming up on the block in the form of the Range Rover Velar, the company will make a big statement in the luxury SUV segment in India. The car has been spotted a few days back in Goa without any camouflage.
The particular spotted car is the Land Rover Range Rover Velar First Edition. It had Matrix-Laser LED headlights and solar-accentuation windscreen on the front angle and the First Edition badge on the B-pillar. The First Edition luxury SUV gets 19-inch 5-spoke wheels as standard while bigger 20-inch 10-spoke wheels are given as an optional feature. However, the international-spec model gets bigger 22-inch wheels.
In the Indian market, Land Rover will offer the Range Rover Velar First Edition with a D300, turbocharged, V6 diesel engine with 3.0-litre capacity. The engine will be producing a maximum power of 300 bhp and a humongous torque of 700 Nm. The power will be sent down to all the wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox unit. With such massive power and torque on offer, the SUV will be capable of hitting a top speed of 241 km/hr at an acceleration of 0-100 km/hr in just 6.5 seconds.
The Land Rover range Rover Velar First Edition will be getting surround camera, 23-speaker Meridian Signature Sound, a head-up display, heated steering wheel, 20-way heated front seats wrapped in Windsor leather and heated reclining rear seats.
Land Rover Range Rover Velar will be launched in India by this month and will be available in standard and R-Dynamic trims along with the range-topping First Edition. The prices are expected to be anywhere near Rs. 80 lakh mark. The company will be offering the top-sped First Edition only in the first year of the sales commencement.
