  • Mary Kom Strikes Gold at Asian Women’s Boxing Championships-
  •  M.C. Mary Kom (48kg)notched up her fifth gold medal at the Asian Women’s Boxing Championshipsin Vietnam. He has defeated North Korea’s Kim Hyang Mi.
  • This is Mary Kom’s first international gold medal since the 2014 Asian Games.Mary Kom’s last medal came in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.

  •  Prince of Wales, Charles Philip Arthur Georgearrived in New Delhi on a 2-day visit to India. This visit is a part of their 10 day tour to Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei and India.

  •  India Unveil Logo, Mascot and Song for AIBA Youth Women’s World Boxing Championship - 
  •  Assam's famed one-horned rhinowas unveiled as the official mascot of the 2017 AIBA Youth Women's World Boxing Championshipin Guwahati, Assam. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Boxing Federation of India (BFI) president Ajay Singh released the championship's official logo and anthem, to mark the countdown for India's first youth world boxing championship from November 19 to 26.
  • The official mascot, named Guppy, is a female version of Assam's one-horned rhino. The logo infuses two key elements-- the strength of an Indian woman in the form of a female boxer and the culture of Assam through the 'gamosa', a hand-woven piece of cloth in the state.
  • The World Championship's official anthem is 'Make Some Noise'. It is composed by Shaan and rendered by renowned singer Sunidhi Chauhan.

  •  Twitter has officially increased the number of characters in tweets from 140 to 280for the majority of users. The new limit will not apply to tweets written in Japanese, Chinese and Korean which can convey more information in a single character. ii.It was called microblogging site because of its lesser character limit.

  •  Ola Ties up with Microsoft to Build Connected Vehicle Platform - 
  •  Together with Microsoft, Ola is building a new connected vehicle platform for car manufacturers worldwide. As part of the partnership, Ola announced that Microsoft will be its preferred cloud provider.
  • At the heart of the partnership is Ola Play, that will leverage Microsoft Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT). It will also provide auto manufacturers with custom digital experiences for their customers.

  •  Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company, a joint venture between integrated healthcare provider, Apollo Hospitals Group, and the Munich Re Group was conferred with the 21st Asia Insurance Industry Awards in the "General Insurance Company of the Year" category.

  •  Paytm Introduces BHIM UPI for Seamless Money Transfer - 
  •  Digital payment platform Paytmintroduced payments using BHIM UPI on its platform,using which users can create their own Paytm BHIM UPI ID on the app, which will be issued by Paytm Payments Bank. ii. With Paytm BHIM UPI, users can now make seamless and instant money transfers directly between two bank accounts, with no waiting time to add beneficiary.

  •  A Financing Agreement for IBRD loan of US$ 119 million (equivalent)for the “Odisha Higher Education Programme for Excellence & Equity (OHEPEE) Project” was signed with the World Bank.
  • The Objective of the project is to improve the quality of 'students’ equitable access to selected institutions and enhance governance of the higher education system in Odisha. The closing date for the project is 30th November, 2022.

  • External Affairs Minister Sushma Swarajheld a meeting with Guinea’s Foreign Minister, Mamady Toure,during the course of which the latter handed over his country’s instrument accession to the India-initiated International Solar Alliance (ISA).
  • According to a statement issued by the External Affairs Ministry, Sushma Swaraj and Toure exchanged views on a broad range of subjects covering bilateral friendship and cooperation.
