Thomas Chandy must not get justice that was denied to E P Jayarajan: Chennithala
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that Thomas Chandy, who is facing allegations of backwater encroachment, must not get the justice that was denied to CPM’s living martyr E P Jayarajan who had to resign over charges of nepotism.
“Thomas Chandy’s resignation is needed, and more the delay, the more Chandy and team becomes a subject of laughing stalk. The CPM has been protecting a minister who’s guilty of encroachment, and now they will have to decide whether they have to continue supporting the minister,” he said.
Chennithala added: “The CPM is adopting stances which can never be accepted among common public. They’re becoming a laughing talk. I hope the party soon takes a decision on the same.”
He, however, evaded questions over Saritha S Nair’s allegation that he had asked her to give evidence against Oommen Chandy. He said that the Congress is united in the solar issue and added that such allegations won’t affect the party or the UDF.
