Chris Gayle offers to reveal his side of the story over defamation case at $300,000
After winning the defamation the case against Fairfax media, West Indies’ star cricketer Chris Gayle is offering to reveal his side of the story at the cost of whopping US$ 300,000. Recently, New South Wales Supreme Court jury ruled the case in Gayle’s favour after finding the articles were motivated by malice.
Despite the winning the case, there has been quite a lot of damage on Gayle’s image, on which the hearing will be held at a later date. However, after Twitter came up with a new rule of increasing tweets character from 140 to 280, Gayle vent out his feelings and expressed what is the next step he is looking forward too with three big tweets.
Gayle was accused by Fairfax Media, publisher of The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, in a series of stories last year of exposing his penis to a massage therapist and indecently propositioning her.
Moreover, besides offering for an interview at a colossal cost Gayle also wrote that if not interview, then people have to wait for his next book, which will cover his side of the story over this issue.
Fairfax published the allegations in the wake of an uproar after Gayle attempted to flirt with an Australian presenter on live TV, asking her out for a drink and telling her: “Don’t blush, baby.”
Speaking after the trial, Gayle said the case had been “very emotional”.
“I’m a good man. I’m not guilty,” he said. Fairfax has yet to announce whether it will appeal the ruling.
Last year, Gayle released his autobiography named “Six Machine: I Don't Like Cricket... I Love it”, which created a stir among the fans. With another book on the bay, fans must be excited again to know another interesting story of the Caribbean giant who refers himself as ‘Universe Boss’.;
