Mahbubnagar: Tension prevailed at the government hospital in Mahbubnagar when the relatives of a woman who died after developing complications post caesarean surgery staged a protest on hospital premises claiming that doctors’ negligence had led to the death of the woman.
According to sources, the pregnant woman, Anuradha, a resident of Nagulapally village of Kodair mandal from Wanaparthy district had a baby through caesarean surgery on October 30. After three days of her discharge from the hospital on November 6, the woman developed complications and died on Friday while undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital in Mahbubnagar. She was first treated at Wanaparthy Area Hospital and was shifted to Mahbubnagar hospital when her condition deteriorated further.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased woman staged a dharna in front of government hospital alleging doctors’ negligence in the incident. “The hospital staff and the doctors are responsible for the death of my wife, they never took proper care while treating,” alleged Srinu, husband of the deceased.
However, the doctors said that her condition was very serious when she was admitted to the hospital. They tried their best to save her life but could not do it as it was too late.
Lack of adequate number of doctors and nursing staff is plaguing the government hospital in Wanaparthy. Due to this, the patients who are admitted to the hospital are not given proper care and are neglected even if the patient is suffering from severe complications.
In view of this, the people demanded the government to fill up all the vacant doctor and nurse posts in the hospitals and ensure proper health services to the public.
