Admissions, deliveries fall in Ajmer hospitals

Summary: Ajmer: Deliveries came down at the government Janana Hospital to 32 on Friday following the statewide strike by in-service doctors.On Tuesday, the hospital had reported 65 deliveries. According to JLN Hospital's Jain, about 891 patients were treated today by overworked doctors. The condition of government dispensaries and health centers throughout the district had become worse and patients were seen going to private hospitals. Shortage of doctors in JLN Hospital saw the discharge of 215 patients. Only 103 new admissions were made in the hospital which has about 1,028 beds.

According to the Newspaper,The hospital which usually is full wore a deserted look the whole day and only poor patients who had no other choice were seen on the premises.Medical college principal Gokhru and JLN Hospital superintendent Dr Anil Jain tried to ensure services for patients. The condition of government dispensaries and health centers throughout the district had become worse and patients were seen going to private hospitals. "They said that arrangements had been made in hospitals, but there are no doctors," said a patient who had come to the OPD.The district administration appealed to doctors to return for duty.
