LAHORE: Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PUASA) has condemned torture of Dr Sardar Asghar Iqbal, Assistant Professor of Department of Kashmir Studies, allegedly by IJT.
According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, the association, in its emergent meeting of the general body held in the Auditorium of the Institute of Chemistry under the chairmanship of Prof Javed Sami and attended by a large number of university teachers, demanded removal of the Hall Council Chairman.
Furthermore, it was stated that the students involved in the incident had been identified so it was demanded that case be sent to the Main Disciplinary Committee with immediate effect. It was also demanded that FIR be registered by the Punjab University administration.
