Wildlife Crime Control meet in Nagaland

Kohima, Dec 07 (UNI) An Inter-Agency coordination meeting, jointly
organized by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Government of
India and Wildlife Wing of Nagaland Forest Department was held at Forest
Conference Hall in Dimapur yesterday.

According to an official release today the meeting was chaired by Chief
Wildlife Warden of the Government of Nagaland Satya Prakesh Tripathi and
attended by the Chief Wildlife of Warden of Manipur, Field Director of
Kaziranga Tiger Reserve and officers from Forest Departments of Nagaland,
Manipur & Assam, along with Deputy Commissioner of Police of Dimapur
and other officers from the Police Department, Nagaland, SSB, Assam
Rifles, RPF, CISF, SIB, Customs and Scientists from ZSI and BSI.

The participants were welcomed by Tilotama Varma, Additional Director
of Central Wildlife Crime Control Bureau from New Delhi and apprised of
the recent trends of wildlife crime in the region.
She laid emphasis on the
need for cooperation among all the Central and State government Agencies
to work towards tackling Wildlife Crime by dissemination of information and
intelligence between them.

Nagaland Chief Wildlife Warden Tripathy illustrated the scenario of wildlife
crime in Nagaland and said people are now coming forward to protect the
indigenous wildlife and the efforts of the people of Nagaland for protection
of the Amur Falcon was presented by him and appreciated by all.
