Ganja worth Rs 36,000 seized, Telangana native held
According to Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, in-charge of Calangute Police Station, he received information about the accused person coming to deliver ganja. Accordingly a team was formed and raid was conducted. Police laid a trap at Calangute parking and waited for the suspected person. Upon noticing the accused person, police immediately apprehended him. The personal search was conducted and ganja worth Rs 36,000 was seized from the accused person. The accused person was identified as Tejavath (20), son of Lachiram Tilak, native of Bharadri, Telangana.
An offence under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act was registered. The accused had come to deliver the drugs to a prospective customer at Calangute. The raiding team consisted of PI Jivba Dalvi, PSI Prajit Mandrekar, Police Constables Dinesh Morajkar, Govind Shirodkar and Vallabh Pednekar and other staff.
Further investigation was in progress.
