Nagaland PDA Lok Sabha candidate campaigns in Mokokchung

The campaign trail for the People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) candidate Tokheho Yepthomi for the bye-election to the Nagaland Parliamentary (Lok Sabha) constituency reached Mokokchung today, led by the PDA Government Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio along with the candidate and other Cabinet Ministers of the PDA.

According to a release today the campaign was held at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex of Mokokchung town, where Mr Rio acknowledged and thanked the alliance partners for their cooperation and giving the nod to the candidate to contest. Explaining the capabilities and potentials of the candidate, the chief minister said that Tokheho Yepthomi was a seasoned and veteran politician and an experienced leader who can represent the Nagas in the Indian Parliament.

He said the PDA will deliver the promise to the people and added that Common Minimum Program will be implemented in all ways possible. Mr Rio said the solution to the Naga political issue is the top priority and expressed his hope for an early solution so that peace will prevail in the land and developmental activities on all fronts takes place. He said the solution if at all it should come, it could be possible only during the present NDA government under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Referring to the gathering in attendance at the campaign today, the chief minister urged upon the crowd saying that as they are leaders from all the constituencies it is their duty to disseminate all the information to the grass root level of what they have learned today at the campaign. The chief minister in his speech also attacked his rival party the NPF saying that they are a divided house and that they are just after power and without vision. Mr Rio further called out saying that full change will come when the public extends their full cooperation and solicited the voters to vote for the PDA candidate for a landslide victory and make the PDA strong.

Speaking in the campaign rally, PDA candidate for the Lok Sabha bye-election Tokheho Yepthomi who also spoke at the program said that he took the decision to contest after much consideration thinking that if elected he would try to give his best for the people and the state. Mr Yepthomi said that he will act and work in accordance to the guidance of the chief minister and the PDA members in all fronts, the release said. UNI AS BM
