Mangaluru, Dec 5: St Ann’s College of Education has been and continues to be the leading institution of women’s higher education with its constant progress and excellence. The new batch of fifty BEd students were graciously welcomed by the principal Dr Sr Clare AC, staff and students of second year BEd.

The programme began with a prayer service followed by an entertaining dance and song by the senior students.

Dr Sr Clare AC briefed the students on how the college has a constructive influence in training teacher educators through its educational endeavours. She addressed the students on how the college has taken novel directions with a vision of enlightening teachers and research scholars amidst the national and global challenges and a mission of preparing teachers for modern society with personal, academic, research and professional excellence.

Visualizing quality in every educational venture, the history of the college was highlighted through a video presentation. The principal and staff gave a brief introduction about themselves after which the students of the new batch were asked to speak a few words individually. To familiarize with the campus and facilities available in the college, the students were divided into groups and taken around the campus.

Jahanvi, student representative of second year BEd compered the programme.
