'India has become the 3rd largest start-up eco system'

New Delhi: Union Minister for Electronics & IT Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday said that the movement of Digital India should be spread across the country extensively and it should be much more inclusive.
Stressing on digital India, Prasad said, "India has become the 3rd largest start-up eco system worth 6000 crores. It is the time that we trust the younger generation with creative solutions."
- To a question on how government would take the concept of Digital India to agricultural sector, Prasad told ETV Bharat, "Lakhs of farmers today are using the e-portal National Agricultural Market according to stats. It already had trade worth 90000 crores. In addition the states have their own similar initiatives. Indian farmers are getting strong digitally and we need to make them stronger, "
Speaking at the lauch of 'Ideate for India- Creative solutions using Technology', a collaboration between Ministry of IT & Electronics and the tech behemoth Intel , Prasad said, "We need to give the youth of India the right kind of opportunities and make Digital India a mass movement. For this, the non-government companies like Intel should also come forward. The Indian IT companies have done well, earned money and have made India proud,"
The tech giant Intel in collaboration with Ministry of IT & Electronics aims to have a national level challenge where children from classes 6-12 would develop technological solutions to address daily life problems.
