“ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 is the third smartphone from the brand, which is receiving the Android Pie stable update after Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone Max M2.”

After many delays, ASUS is finally on way to update its devices with the latest Android OS. First, the update was rolled out to ZenFone Max Pro M1 and ZenFone Max M2 smartphones and just after a few hours, now it is rolling out to another handset, the ZenFone Max Pro M2. The users of the smartphone have already started receiving Android Pie in a phased manner.

Last year in December, ASUS launched ZenFone Max Pro M2 and ZenFone Max M2 smartphones in India and at the time, the brand also promised to roll out the Android v9.0 (Pie) stable update by the end of February. However, the promise didn’t follow through as ASUS could only roll out the beta update by the promised time. And finally, the company announced that it will start to push out the update by April 15th.

Besides the improvements with the OS, the update also brings March 2019 Android security patch. The firmware version is 16.2017.1903.061, and users can get this manually in Settings if they haven’t received any notification. To check for the version, you can navigate to Settings > System > System Updates. However, the size is not mentioned in the ASUS forum, where the company announced the rollout. Prior to this, ZenFone Max Pro M1 received the stable update and the size of the update turned out to be 1.55GB, but for those who have the beta version, the file size is 392MB.

ASUS hasn’t revealed anything about the improvements in the forum, though we can guess it will be something like Adaptive Battery, App Actions, new Magnifier features, and improved gesture-based navigation that ZenFone Max Pro M1 has recently received with the update.
