Poonch boxer wins bronze for J&K

JAMMU: After a gap of eight years, Jammu and Kashmir won a bronze medal in first Sub-Junior National Boxing Championship held at Rohtak in Haryana.
The medal came through Mohd Zahir of Poonch, who lost in the semifinal to Chandigarh boxer 2-3. Earlier, he defeated his opponents from Rajasthan, Himachal and Bihar in the preliminary rounds.
Mohd Zahir is a trainee of Mushtaq Ahmed, boxing coach of the J&K State Sports Council posted at Poonch.
Furthermore, Zahir has been selected as probable for the upcoming India camp being organised for those talented boxers in the Sub-Junior category.
