Bangalore Classic Beetle Club - Group of VW Beetle Owners in Bangalore
To the point: With regular meetings and annual rallies, the Bangalore Classic Beetle Club is a group of proud owners of signature VW Beetles, which recently went out of production.
We know the city has a bunch of fun and quirky groups, right from the Bangalore Beard Club to communities for beatboxing and skateboarding enthusiasts. But, did you know we also have a group that’s dedicated to the iconic Volkswagen Beetle? Oh yes! Founded in 2003, the Bangalore Classic Beetle Club (BCBC) is a club which has owners of the signature car. Bound together by their love for the vehicle, the group currently has 40 members and 25 Beetles, including an offbeat black one.
The club holds quarterly meetings in public spaces like Cubbon Park or Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Apart from these gatherings, they also hold an annual rally to celebrate the Worldwide VW Beetle Day on June 22. This year, the club had nine sleek-looking Beetles lined up outside Vidhana Soudha along with a rally featuring these classic cars. While motorheads and vintage car lovers flocked the spot to admire the bugs, there were quite a few selfie-enthusiasts making most of the opportunity. Well, the car might have gone out of production but that doesn’t seem to have affected the love for the bug, clearly!
