Tamilisai takes oath as governor of Telangana
Telangana got its new governor yesterday i.e. on Sunday. Veteran TamilSai Sundararajan, a veteran BJP leader from Tamil Nadu, was sworn in as the first female governor of the state. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Langana High Court Judge Raghavendra Singh Chauhan. A doctor by profession, Sundararajan has been the BJP President in Tamil Nadu. He was nominated as the second governor of Telangana by President Ram Nath Kovind on 1 September. Sundararajan became BJP's national secretary in 2013.
His father Kumari Anandan has been a senior Congress leader. He has also been an MP. Her husband Sundararajan is also a doctor by profession and a member of the Indian Council of Medical Research. She has contested the assembly and Lok Sabha elections twice but has not been successful in any. Apart from this, she has been a supporter of the Me Too campaign, she said that the woman suffering from it should get justice.
Tamilasai has also been involved in controversies. His name came to the headlines when an auto driver asked questions on rising oil prices. After which he was allegedly beaten up by BJP workers. The incident took place in mid-September last year. The video of the incident went viral on social media. Please tell that Telangana was formed in 2014, separated from Andhra Pradesh. Since then ESL Narasimhan was taking charge as the Governor of the state.
