A trip to Rashtrapati Bhavan is a rare rendezvous with the ethos of Indian democracy that most people in the country do not have the good fortune to relish. But, if you’re a Delhiite, then chances of you enjoying this elusive experience are heightened by your serendipitous geographical location, as every year India’s honourable president invites applications for a visit to the glorious gardens housed inside his palatial residence. The time for that visit has finally arrived this year, as the famous Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan are now open for public visitation. If you've been planning a visit to this floral wonderland, here are all the important details you need to know:
This year the Mughal Gardens will be open for the general public from February 5 to March 8. Visitation will be allowed on all days of the week except Mondays, when the garden will be closed for maintenance. Similarly, timings for a visit are fixed between 10 AM to 4 PM. Entry to the gardens is free but will require prior registration on behalf of prospective visitors.
If you’re someone who wants to register a visit to the place, visit the official Rashtrapati Bhavan website and click on the ‘plan your visit’ tab. Visitors will also be required to carry a digital copy of the pass after registration. Here's an additional note: Mughal Garden is situated at Gate No. 35 at Rashtrapati Bhawan, and items like bottles, briefcases, handbags, purses, cameras, radios, umbrellas are prohibited inside the premises due to security reasons.
