Shivraj Singh Chouhan takes oath as Madhya Pradesh CM
Bhopal, March 23, 2020: BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to take oath as Madhya Pradesh’s chief minister at 9 pm on Monday, 23 March, at Raj Bhavan in Bhopal, ANI reported. He was also elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party, at a meeting held at the party office.
This comes days after the Congress government in the state fell, with the resignation of Kamal Nath as the CM. The crisis in the state was precipitated by Jyotiraditya Scindia’s shift to the BJP, and the resignation of 22 Congress MLAs.
On Saturday, the 22 rebel MLAs joined the BJP.
“BJP has murdered democracy... They have betrayed the people of MP,” Kamal Nath had said while announcing his resignation
