JAMMU: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla Friday claimed that Govt has failed to tackle terrorists in Kashmir valley. Union Government despite posturing has failed to make any impact in the valley to bring down the level of terrorism even to pre-2009 level. So despite all out operations in the valley, Government has failed to made an impact.

This was stated by former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today while fulfilling duties and responsibilities of the leader of the poor and down-trodden in this hour of crisis and continuing distributing ration and other necessary items among needy and poor families of Gandhi Nagar Constituency at Govind Pura, Sekli Garh Kullian, Old Satwari and Amar Colony, here.

Bhalla condemned Pakistan for the frequent ceasefire violations along the LoC and attack on security forces and demanded that a befitting response be given to the neighbouring country.

He said the repeated incidents of cross border shelling from Pakistan in different areas of Rajouri and Poonch was a cause for grave concern.

He sought an effective and befitting response to Pakistan's mischief and foiling of all attempts of infiltration from across the border.

Bhalla has urged the Government to launch relief package to address the concerns of people from various walks of life who have been adversely affected by the lockdown enforced by the Government to curb the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

He asked the Government to come up with a special economic package for those who arrange their bread and butter through their daily wages, employees with low salary scale, other labourers, unemployed youth and students living in rented accommodation, businessmen and entrepreneurs who have to manage bank instalments on a regular basis and working journalists affiliated to daily, weekly and other newspapers whose publishing houses have already shut down due to the lockdown amid COVID-19 outbreak fears.

He said, in the present crisis, the need is to think about the poorest of the poor people of our country, especially daily wagers who survive and live hand to mouth.

Bhalla demanded Govt of India and J&K Government to quickly make a concrete plan and allocate funds and distribution mechanism for underprivileged section of the society.
