No More Delays: New York Auto Show Will Finally Take Place In 2021
After several delays, the New York Auto Show has finally been canceled for 2020 and rescheduled for the spring of April 2-11, 2021, due to the on-going Coronavirus Pandemic.
Here’s a tweet from NYC auto show organizers confirming the news officially.
For the good of #NYC and safety of all auto show attendees, we’ve decided #NYIAS will take place April 2 – 11, 2021. We’ve been driving history for 120 years, and now we’re gearing up for an even greater 2021. Stay safe and we’ll see you soon. https://t.co/misDznfNZw pic.twitter.com/NfYysADUKY

Several auto events have previously been called off due to this ongoing pandemic. At first, we witnessed the Geneva International Motor Show(GIMS) getting abandoned. Soon after GIMS, we saw the New York Auto show getting delayed a number of times.
According to the previous announcement from the organizers, the show was supposed to start on August 2020. However, considering the current situation, it makes sense that they have shifted it to next year.
The coronavirus has hit the US harder than any other country. More than 1.6 million are confirmed COVID-19 cases, and over 97,000 people have lost their lives, out of which close to 29,000 deaths have been recorded in New York City alone.
The Javits Centre, where the New York Auto Show was supposed to take place, is currently being used as a hospital for the COVID-19 patients.
Coming back to the auto show, a lot of exciting vehicle debuts have either been delayed or cancelled all together. People are most disappointed about the delay of upcoming EV vehicles.
A few interesting electric vehicles that will make their first appearance at the New York Auto event include Volkswagen ID.4 and Lucid Air. Which one are you rooting for the most?
