iPhone 12, iPad launch tipped for October; 5G variants delayed
Apple's track record of iPhone launches suggests that September is the month when one should expect the arrival of new models. It has been following the schedule for quite a long time but this time around, the situation is different. The world is fighting with the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected almost everything including human lives and businesses. Speaking of the latter, smartphone companies are suffering from supply chain issues and the tech giant Apple is no different.
Jon Prosser, a well-known tipster and YouTuber, has claimed that iPhone 12 and new iPad models will be unveiled in October. He has not offered any other details other than the expected month of launch. It is safe to assume that Apple's supply chain is not working with the same efficiency as it used to and will take to prepare the first batch of devices in sufficient quantity.

This year will be the first time we will see Apple release 5G iPhone models. Both 4G and 5G models were initially expected to arrive at the same time but as per a new Qualcomm announcement, 5G variants are expected to get delayed even further. It has announced that revenue per share is expected to get impacted in the next quarter due to the delay in the global release of a 5G flagship smartphone.
The announcement does not specifically mention the iPhone but the way phrase has been structured, it leads to speculation that the global 5G phone is none other than the iPhone itself. Apple is widely reported to have partnered with Qualcomm for procuring 5G modems that will be used in 5G iPhones.VIASOURCE
