The fab four comprising of Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, and Joe Root are always in the debate of top Test players. But the comparison between Smith and Kohli is heavily drawn though both the players have a different style of batting.
India’s captain Virat Kohli is known for his conventional way of batting while the Australian cricketer Steve Smith is an unorthodox batter. However, both are the chase-master and century makers. Kohli has 27 Test centuries while Smith has, one less hundred than the former, 26 Test hundreds.
The duo has the tough fight for the No.1 position in ICC’s Test ranking. However, currently, Smith holds the top position.
Karun Nair picks Steve Smith as the best Test player:
While speaking to Times Now, When asked to pick the best Test player, Karun Nair went with Smith and then also termed the rest of the fab four players as modern-day greats. He also named Babar Azam, who has scored an outstanding half-century in the recently concluded first Test against England, alongside the greats.
Meanwhile, Steve Smith and Virat Kohli will face off each other in the much-awaited when India will tour Australia. Cricket pundits and fans are excited to witness the two strong teams fighting for the trophy later this year.
Last year, Kohli-led side won the maiden Test series in Australian soil. Notably, in that series, Steve Smith and David Warner were absent in Australia’s squad because they were serving one year ban.
But later this year, the duo will join their team. So, India would have the challenge to defend the trophy and prove their supremacy.
